UKRAINA Hotel – 4*

The Ukraina Hotel was erected in Moscow at 1949 - 1955 by the design of the Architectural Studio of the Ministry of Construction in the USSR. The author of the design was Arcady Mordvinov, the Chairman of the Committee of Construction and Architecture. The Ukraina Hotel consists of 34-storey Hotel building and two 9-11-storey apartment blocks. The Ukraina Hotel design was executed by the plan and confirmed by the resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated 25.07.47 and by the decree of the Executive Committee of Moscow City Administrative Council dated 30.12.49. Nowadays the building is 206 meters high and there are 34 up-land and 3 under-land floors. The width of the Ukraina Hotel walls is in between 51 and 64 sm. From its early days the Ukraina Hotel became a history of the Moscow city architecture as one of the seven Stalin's high-rise buildings erected in Soviet Classicism architecture style. At the time of its opening at 1957 the Ukraina Hotel was nominated as the biggest Soviet Hotel and as well as the biggest European hotel. The Ukraina Hotel stands on a picturesque bank of the Moskva River, and from the upper floors of this exquisite building one can enjoy an impressive panorama of the central part of Moscow: the White House of the Parliament, the Mayor's Office, and Novy Arbat Street leading up to the foot of the Kremlin, about 5-10 minutes walk from the nearest metro station "Kievskaya" and 30 minutes drive from/to the International airport. There is a square in front of the Ukraina Hotel which at 1974 was decorated with the monument of the famous Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko by the sculptures M. Gritsjuk, J. Sinkevitch, A. Fujenko. There is another attracting feature of the Ukraina Hotel - its unique ecology. All wooden and plaster internal interiors and rich decorations are kept since 50.

The Ukraina Hotel offers to its Russian and foreign visitors an excellent range of 864 comfortable standard and renovated, furnished guest rooms, suites and apartments to suit most budgets. All rooms are tastefully decorated in Soviet style and offer single, double or twin beds. The Hotel Ukraina rooms occupy 24 floors from the 3rd to 28th . There are 1017 rooms at the Ukraina Hotel (15 suites, 68 junior suites, 515 twin/double and 419 singles) rooms (many of them with a nice panoramic view to the city streets and the Russian Parliament "White House" and Moscow river) offer all the facilities you would expect from a quality 4 star hotel: ceiling high 4 meters, private bathrooms with bath tub, shower and WC, telephones with international satellite connections, remote control TV with satellite and local channels. Customers can opt for non-smoking rooms. For business travelers the Ukraina Hotel offers the special facilities: 17 renovated rooms on the 28th floor with the modem plug-in points and the separate fully equipped computer room. Open buffet breakfast is included to all room rates. All rooms are equipped with the electronic keys for security reasons as well as the corridors are under 24 hours video control.
